******UPDATE******

Congratulations to Les Fletcher and Andrew Turk, who won the Novice and Intermediate (respectively) club ladder trophies for 2007.  Don't forget to put your cross country flights onto the BGA ladder at http://www.bgaladder.co.uk/ .  Not only does this give us something to work with when we do our own trophies, but it also helps to promote our club.  We do a lot of flying from here, but rarely are your achievements seen by others.  Well done to Dave Smith and Richard Palmer for starting us off this year.

I have now put a sign on the gliding office door giving the appropriate state of the airfield.  Please remember to check this when you arrive.  We will now aim to keep the weather page up-to-date on our website, at http://www.bidfordgliding.co.uk/weather.htm , and this will also have the airfield state - we are currently Amber.

We will also be having a "Cards Night" on Saturday 3rd May.  Vote for your favourite game (by replying to this email), and the one with the most votes will be played.  Instructions for the game that wins will be available for anyone that needs them.  NOTE:  We will be playing for pennies only (no-one will be winning a fortune!), and we would encourage any 'winnings' to be donated to the Air Ambulance bottle!

For your information, we are now fully qualified to carry out the NPPL SLMG flight training, ground school and exams here.  We already have a few members who have started the flight training, and we have had our first exam applicant today - Les Fletcher, who passed, well done Les.  As a promotion, we will be offering our club members the opportunity to sit the exams before the end of April for free, but after that we will be charging £20 per exam (the going rate anywhere else).  As an addition, we can also do the training from an NPPL SLMG to add on the rating for SSEA (i.e. a single engine plane).  Doing it this way around means that you are flying at half the normal cost for the main part of your NPPL, but it also means that your SLMG time counts towards your total time on your licence (again half the cost of normal power flying).  Great, isn't it?  Talk to Gordon for further information.

Instructor, Duty Marshall and Tow Pilot rotas can be found on this website.  Not surprisingly, they can be found via their respective pages as given on the links to the left, but they are for information only.  To book your slots, please contact the office.
