Shortest Day - 21st December 2008

The day started with Gill Stewart and Dave Findon setting off in the Puchacz into a truly glorious sky for a quick check flight. They came down over two and a half hours later having ridden the wave over Evesham to more than 12000ft - stopped only by lack of oxygen equipment from going higher.

 

Gill was justifiably elated and as she left the launch point the van radio came alive to Keith Brackstone & Colin Hussell's dulcet tones in the K13 calling up as they too passed through 6000ft!

 

Even John Scott got in on the act by reaching 11000ft in his CAP10 over Bredon Hill with the engine on idle.

 

Gordon took these photos of Colin and Keith in the K13, whilst tracking them with the Motor Falke. Unfortunately he was just getting close to them to get some really good pics, and the battery died - so this is it, but you get the gist!
